Tire Company Dębica S.A. the leader of tire industry in 2009
Dębica-based tire maker ranked high on the lists of “Parkiet” and “Rzeczpospolita” dailies, and “Polityka” weekly
Tire Company Dębica S.A. proved once again that it is the leader of tire industry by winning the highest positions in the prestigious rankings of the Polityka weekly as well as the Rzeczpospolita and the Parkiet dailies. Despite market turmoil, last year the Company showed that its strength was based on stable financial foundations.

Tire Company Dębica S.A. proved once again that it is the leader of tire industry by winning the highest positions in the prestigious rankings of the Polityka weekly as well as the Rzeczpospolita and the Parkiet dailies. Despite market turmoil, last year the Company showed that its strength was based on stable financial foundations.
The latest edition of rankings showed that industry players coped well with the recent crisis. Though the year 2009 was exceptionally tough for the tire business, the Company successfully defended its leading position in the major business rankings. Last year’s profit, hovering around PLN 103 MM and generated in very tough market environment, was up by almost 35 percent compared to the last 3 years. This shows that tangible effects were brought about, among others, by various cost saving programs.
- Last year was extremely tough for the automotive business, therefore the performance of Tire Company Dębica S.A. and high places occupied in the prestigious rankings gave double satisfaction – says Jacek Pryczek, the President of Management Board of Tire Company Dębica S.A. – I hope that if the positive trend currently observed on the market prevails next year we will manage to improve our position on the lists of top Polish businesses.
Tire Company Dębica S.A. was ranked as one of the largest and most valuable businesses by the Parkiet daily, the stock exchange gazette. T.C. Dębica S.A. was ranked on 65th place of the general classification of businesses distinguished with the title „Pearl of the Polish Stock Exchange 2010”. Traditionally the Company was in the lead of the businesses in the ”industry and construction” category, holding 14th place out of 110 competing businesses. During the assessment of individual businesses the focus was primarily on their financial performance in 2009, and also on the percentage change in the last three years. The analysis also covered sales revenues, operating profit (EBIT), net profit, equity, return on equity (ROE) and market capitalization at the end of last year.
On the list of top Polish businesses in the automotive industry, drawn up by the ”Polityka” weekly, T.C. Dębica S.A. was ranked on 14th place. In the general ranking the Company was classified on 156th place, 50 places ahead of the consecutive tire maker. Based on the findings of the prestigious weekly the Company was ranked amongst top thirty Polish exporters. The Company was also ranked in top five businesses in the Subcarpathian region. Last year’s sales revenues exceeding PLN 1 422.6 MM gave the Company high position in the ranking.
On 500 Top Polish Businesses prepared by the “Rzeczpospolita” daily Tire Company Dębica S.A. was ranked on 197th position. Based on stock exchange quotations and such statistics as sales, book value and operating profit including depreciation, the Rzeczpospolita daily also estimated the value of the largest Polish businesses. T.C. Dębica S.A. was valuated at the level exceeding one billion PLN and consequently it was classified higher in the ranking and moved up to 189th position.
