Dębica, 17 February 2009 – For the first time in its 70-year-long history Tire Company Dębica S.A. is honored to host the President of Republic of Poland. Today Lech Kaczyński, the President visited the production rooms and met with the workers. The visit of the President of Poland to Tire Company is one of the points on the agenda of the visit of the Head of Polish State to Dębica.

Lech Kaczyński saw the latest manufacturing lines, got familiar with the scope of investment projects at the plant and with the Company position in current market environment. It was also an opportunity to meet with T.C. Dębica S.A. workers and also representatives of trade unions operating at the plant.

The visit of the President of Poland was at the moment of initiating the commemoration of 70th anniversary of launching tire production at the Dębica plant, when the tire industry was established in the Subcarpathian region. Thanks to the efforts taken by Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski, Deputy Prime Minister, the construction of the Central Industrial Area was commenced at the end of 1930s. The construction work on site of The Traction Tire Plant in Dębica was started in spring 1937. The construction and assembly operations lasted until the end of 1938. The first tire from Dębica plant was made on March 30, 1939. The official opening ceremony for The Dębica Traction Tire Plant was held on April 4, 1939 in the presence of Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski.

Each year Dębica brand proves its high value, winning the recognition of customers in prestigious competitions. In December 2008 in the Ranking of Most Valuable Polish Brands of the ”Rzeczpospolita” daily, where the value of 330 domestic brands was appraised, Dębica came in high 24th position in the “brand strength” category. Dębica tires were also appreciated in a survey of the “Wprost” weekly and in the “Superbrands” competition. The Dębica plant has regularly won the ranking of the largest businesses in the Subcarpathian region. Thanks to Tire Company Dębica S.A. the town is perfectly recognizable at home and abroad.
