15th Debica for Debica Festivities

Concerts of Myslovitz and Vavamuffin Bands and Safety Park - Major Highlights of 2011 Debica for Debica Festivities

Traditionally at the last weekend of summer holidays i.e. on Saturday, 27 August 2011, Tire Company Debica S.A. and Goodyear Dunlop Tires Polska welcome to the annual Debica for Debica Festivities. It will be held already for fifteenth time. Similarly to previous years the Festivities, treated by numerous Debica city dwellers as traditional crowning event of vacations will be a widely-sweeping event. As in the previous years, this year the Festivities will also feature plenty of music entertainment. This year the highlight of the night will be The Myslovitz Band to be preceded by Vavamuffin group. The fun and entertainment at 15th Festivities will be accompanied by a charity operation, and the motto of the event will be safety.

As always the organizers expect several dozen thousand visitors from Debica and environs. For many inhabitants of the Subcarpathian region, the Festivities become the permanent attraction on the vacation calendar with a guarantee of lots of fun and entertainment for the whole family. This year’s edition of the Debica for Debica Festivities promises to bring a myriad of attractions. The Myslovitz Band does not have to be introduced to anyone. Its repertory contains both new hits and songs that were extremely popular several years ago. The Myslovitz Band has just released a new long-play entitled: „No Matter How High We Are …” and it will be at Debica, that will be the first town in the Subcarpathian region where one could hear the tracks from new record. People giving preference to black music will be certainly delighted with the performance of the Vavamuffin Group.

This year The Debica for Debica Festivities will be held at two venues – on the Debica market square and in the Municipal stadium in Akademicka Street at Debica. The major topic will be safety, because since the origin of its operations Debica and Goodyear, the partner of the Festivities, have been associated with safety. Before noon in the market square „safety park” will be erected with attractions prepared for the visitors by the Institute of Motor Transport and Psychological Lab from Warsaw. Everyone interested will be able to experience himself in special trainers – car overturn, collision, and also test how alcohol and external circumstances affect the response time of the driver. In its turn the Rzeszow-based Provincial Road Traffic Center will build a mini road traffic training ground, rendering faithfully actual road conditions, where young cyclists – under a professional eye of policemen – will be able to prove their skills. There will plenty of competitions and entertainment, so nobody is going to be bored.

Meanwhile in the evening at the stage located in the Municipal Stadium in Akademicka Street at Debica, performances will be given by Myslovitz and Vavamuffin bands. Also the winner of charitable campaign will be announced. The following local social institutions will be the beneficiaries of the campaign:

“Hanka” Children’s Home;
“Nazareth” Educational Day-Care Room at Saint Jadwiga Parish at Debica;
Association for the Assistance of the Disabled with Infantile Cerebral Palsy - “I CAN” Integrative Group of the Disabled Youth,
“Joy” Association of Parents and Friends of the Disabled.

In August each of the social organizations will have a job to prepare several proposals of posters propagating road safety and safe driving. Special Committee comprising the representatives of Tire Company Debica S.A., Debica Art Gallery, and representatives of the Debica Town hall will select the best posters i.e. one best poster from each social organization. All social organizations will be donated financial grants by the Tire Company Debica S.A.. The level of grants will depend the grade granted by the Special Committee to their posters. Additionally the best poster, ranked as number one, will be used on billboards to promote road safety and safe driving at Debica under planned “Safe Debica” program.

To give the charges of social organizations a clue how to prepare posters, in July Tire Company Debica S.A. organized for them artistic workshop jointly with the Debica Art Gallery under the subject matter supervision of the Art Gallery Director Mr. Ryszard Kucab. The Artistic Workshop comprises theoretical and practical classes. During classes the Art Gallery workers demonstrated various artistic techniques that could be applied to create the poster and they also showed exemplary posters of leading Polish and foreign artists.

Like in the previous years, at the foot of the stage a special section for the disabled will be created in the evening. Consequently they will be able to admire the performance of

Festivities’ stars in comfort.

Following the performance given by the Myslovitz Band, the Debica sky will be traditionally lit with extraordinary fireworks display that will close the 15th Debica for Debica Festivities.

For years now Tire Company Debica S.A. has been involved with supporting social and educational activities. Through donations, both financial support and gifts, Tire Company Debica S.A. has taken care for a growing number of the disadvantaged people. It has supported the organization of integrative trips, meetings and workshops. It has also assisted talented youth by granting them scholarships and also financing educational actions such as e.g. classes teaching how to provide first aid. In addition to numerous organizations and institutions the rescue services such as fire brigade, police and ambulance service at Debica and in the Subcarpathian Region may count on TC Debica help and support.
