Rainy weather did not prevent thousands of the Dębica city dwellers to have fun at the 2009 Dębica for Dębica Festivities

De Mono and the bands that won the ”Dębica for Dębica” Young Bands’ Review called ”Sound Skirmish in Dębica” including the bands from the Subcarpathian region – Via Rei, Joke, Pigs Like Pigeons and Jackknife gave performances during the Dębica for Dębica concert organized by Tire Company Dębica S.A. and Goodyear Dunlop Tires Polska. The fact that it was raining did not drive the Dębica city dwellers away who, as always, filled in the Wisłok Sports Club’s stadium in Dębica.

In addition to concerts quite popular proved to be the “Dębica Yesterday and Today” Photo Exhibition with several dozen photographs being the output of photographic workshops prepared for the charges of three Dębica-based organizations supporting the needy and the disabled. The photos document changes that happened to Dębica landscape in the last several decades. The photo exhibition was created on the occasion of 70th anniversary of establishing Tire Company Dębica S.A. celebrated this year. The photos are displayed for the general public until 7th September on the Dębica market square.

Kids arrived at the Festivities with their parents already at 2.30 p.m. for the show of Mr. Tick-Tock who reminded the most popular children’s tunes with the Beans Group. Jackknife from Stalowa Wola that received an honorable mention in the „Dębica Sound Skirmish” Young Bands’ Review was the first to give performance. It was immediately followed by the winner of the Review, Via Rei band from Tarnobrzeg that in no time excited the soaked audience. Then performance was given by Pigs Like Pigeons band from Przemyśl during which it stopped raining. Consequently the last hesitating people arrived at the Wisłok Sports Club’s stadium and had an opportunity to enjoy the highlights of the night. First Joke band proved that it came on 2nd place in the ”Dębica Sound Skirmish” Young Bands’ Review not by accident. It quickly captured audience hearts with its hit music and energetic performance. The young musicians played to the best of their abilities, winning the involvement of not only young people. Then it was time for De Mono band to play the concert. Excellent atmosphere, excellent contact with the audience and unforgettable songs – describe in the best way the show given by the band that night. The Band played all most popular hits, overwhelming the audience with impetuosity and excellent physical condition. A crowd of many thousands swung to the beat of well known and liked songs headed by “You are with me again” or “Ships in the sky”. Traditionally the night was crowned by a spectacular fireworks display at 10.00 p.m.

“We were keen that this year’s Festivities coinciding with 70th anniversary of Tire Company Dębica S.A. foundation were special. Therefore this year thanks to the “Dębica Yesterday and Today” Photo Exhibition we referred to Dębica history. We invited the needy i.e. the charges of Dębica social organizations to create the photo exhibition during the photographic workshops organized jointly with the Polish Association of Professional Photographers. Then thanks to the “Dębica Sound Skirmish” Young Bands’ Review we could combine good fun and support young bands from the Subcarpathian region that are on the threshold of their careers. I am happy that the reception of this idea was so good, which is evidenced by impetuous fun and warm reception of artists by the audience” – said Marta Konopacka, the Communications  Director of Tire Company Dębica S.A.

Traditionally the Dębica for Dębica Festivities have focused on the support to the needy. Once again at the foot of the stage a special section for the disabled was created. Consequently they could fully admire the performance of the Festivities’ stars.
