TC Debica – Top CSR Company in 2010
Tire Company Debica S.A. distinguished for social activities <br /> <br /> Tire Company Debica S.A. was awarded a title of ‘Top CSR Company in 2010’. It is already the second distinction granted to the Company in this competition, which is organized on a yearly basis by Debica Business Club. <br />
Tire Company Debica S.A. was awarded a title of ‘Top CSR Company in 2010’. It is already the second distinction granted to the Company in this competition, which is organized on a yearly basis by Debica Business Club.
„This year’s poll was organized on the occasion of the Global Week of Entrepreneurship and is a follow-up of the previous poll. Debica-based non-governmental organizations and public institutions wanted to thank in this way those companies who were not indifferent to fate of other people” – said Zbigniew Nosal, President of the Management Board of Debica Business Club Association.
As a result of the poll the following titles were awarded in the following categories: small business, mid-size business and large corporations. Votes on individual businesses could be cast from June this year by non-governmental organizations and public institutions such as schools, kindergartens, community centers, libraries and other with their registered office in the territory of Debica county – 250 entities in total. In the category of large corporations the highest number of votes was cast on Tire Company Debica S.A.
„For many years now we have attempted to help the most needy. Consequently it was possible, among others, to organize vacation trips for the charges of charitable institutions, to create proper development and educational environment for them, to adapt a vehicle transporting commuting handicapped persons on wheelchairs to therapeutic classes or to purchase computer equipment” – said Marta Konopacka, Director of Communication at Tire Company Debica S.A. “We also support rescue services that take care for the safety of Debica city dwellers. We provide the former with tires for their vehicles or we purchase equipment. We are also keen of Debica city dwellers to be able, under circumstances where time is crucial, to provide first aid on their own. Therefore we equip local schools with specialist manikins for learning first aid principles to train the youngest Debica city dwellers in this area” – added M. Konopacka.
In 2010, similarly to previous years, the Company supported primarily such areas as education, health and organizations supporting the handicapped and the disadvantaged. Thanks to social commitment of TC Debica S.A. Debica School Complex No. 1 was granted an interactive board allowing to teach in a modern and attractive manner. Meanwhile the Debica Hospital was donated winter tires from TC Debica during a campaign aimed at supporting rescue services at Debica, whereas the Association of Friends of the Provincial Hospital No. 2 received funds to supplement equipment necessary at orthopedic ward. Like in the previous years the Company participated again in the operation “Believe in Santa Clause” run by UNICEF, under the patronage of the Warsaw Stock Exchange that brought back smile on faces of the needy children.

One of major events organized and financed by Tire Company Debica S.A. is the annual ,,Debica for Debica” Folk Festivities. In addition to artistic and integrative dimensions, it plays also a social role. This year’s, already 15th Edition of the Folk Festivities was accompanied by a charitable campaign that combined aid for the most needy and propagation of road safety.
Tire Company Debica S.A. also supports actively the education of young freaks of, among others, electrical and power engineering. In 2009 it was the main sponsor of 32nd National Electrical and Power Engineering Contest that was held at the E. Kwiatkowski School Complex No. 2 . The Contest winners were donated modern notebooks by the Company.
In the 2009/2010 school year the Company extended its patronage over the forms with students that major at electronics and electrical engineering. The students in such forms undergo training under the guidance of T.C. Debica S.A. personnel, and the most diligent ones can count on scholarships. Tire Company Debica S.A. purchased also for the school laboratories modern equipment, necessary to organize practical examinations. T.C. Debica supported also City Three-Year Secondary School No. 2, providing part financing for language and sports classes as well as economics and entrepreneurship workshops.
