TC Dębica S.A. One of the Most Socially Responsible Companies
Tire Company Dębica S.A. became the Subcarpathian award winner in the ranking of most socially responsible companies. The “Regional Forbes CSR Awards” competition was organized by the “Forbes” monthly for the companies that stand out in the area of corporate social responsibility.
Tire Company Dębica S.A. became the Subcarpathian award winner in the ranking of most socially responsible companies. The “Regional Forbes CSR Awards” competition was organized by the “Forbes” monthly for the companies that stand out in the area of corporate social responsibility.
The objective of ranking was to select companies characterized by special care they exercise for CSR standards. The “Forbes” CSR Award was granted based on the findings of a survey mailed to a few hundred businesses in Poland. The list of competition nominees was drawn up based on the „Forbes’ Diamonds 2009” ranking. The businesses cast their votes on the companies that stood out in their regions in the following areas: environmental care, respect for employee rights and interests, care for other stakeholders including in particular local communities, charitable and sponsoring activities etc.
- As the tire market leader we focus not only on business successes of our Company, but also on the support to the local communities at Dębica and in the Subcarpathian region. Tire Company Dębica S.A. has supported in various ways, among others, the development of children and youth, educational activities, stimulation of social activities of the disabled and people in a difficult life situation – said Marta Konopacka, the Communication Director of Tire Company Dębica S.A. - We are pleased that our commitment was noticed and recognized – added M. Konopacka.
On the top of TC Dębica S.A. other companies from the Subcarpathian region such as Zelmer S.A., Organika-Sarzyna S.A. Chemical Works and Śnieżka S.A. were also distinguished. The prize-giving ceremony was held on 30 November 2010 in Cracow.
TC Dębica S.A., one of major employers in the Subcarpathian region, has been active in the social sphere for many years now, not only locally but also nationally. Tire Company Dębica S.A. donates funds for scholarships for talented youth, supports young artists, collaborates with Dębica schools and for fourteen years now it has been organizing annually the Dębica for Dębica Festivities, which on the top of artistic and integrative dimensions has also a social aspect. Recently in the competition organized by the Subcarpathian Business Club the Dębica tire maker has been awarded with the title of the Subcarpathian region leader in the area of social activities. Another distinction the Company received from the Dębica Business Club for its socio-educational activities.
