First Formers With School Starter Kits from T.C. Debica S.A.
At the beginning of September more than 700 new pupils started their education at Debica primary schools. To take care for their safety the city authorities acting jointly with Tire Company Debica S.A. carried out an campaign titled “Safe Road to School”. Under this project each first former was equipped with backpack and reflective elements enhancing his visibility while returning back home after nightfall.
Children at school age, especially those who have just stared education and walk everyday to school are particularly vulnerable to road traffic threats. Therefore safety education is vital from early childhood.
Tire Company Debica S.A. and the City Town Hall at Debica once again carried out a campaign titled "Safe Road to School”. More than 700 first formers at Debica starting their education at primary schools, similarly to previous years, at the beginning of September were donated school starter kits comprising reflective objects – backpack, high visibility vest, pump bag, reflective teddy-bear to be attached to backpack, and also colouring books that facilitate the first steps of first formers in the world of road traffic.

- The “Safe Road to School” Program is an important initiative, which has already become a permanent element in the city life and enjoys wide recognition among parents, teachers, but first and foremost among children themselves. The implementation of another wave of this project would not have been possible without the support of our partners. The safety of children and youth is for us a key issue, therefore the more education to in this area, the better – said Mariusz Szewczyk, the Mayor of Debica.
- For years we have been strongly committed to the enhancement of road traffic safety level. Our activities in this area focus especially on the youngest. Therefore we hope that first former will show interest in the donated reflective elements and they will contribute to the improvement of road safety in Debica – explained Stanislaw Cieszkowski, the President of Management Board of Tire Company Debica SA.

“Safe Road to School” is not the only educational initiative, targeted at children, that is supported by Tire Company Debica S.A.. Already on 14 September this year children from age category 6 to 12 will start to be recruited for another semester of the Children University of Technology, which has been sponsored by Tire Company Debica S.A. for three editions now. During new semester there will be abundance of topics related to physics, biology and astronomy.
