Concert closing of vacation
Myslovitz and Vavamuffin bands will be the highlights of 15th Debica for Debica Festivities this year
This year at 15th Debica for Debica Festivities that will be held on 27 August this year Myslovitz and Vavamuffin bands will give concerts. The musicians were invited by the organizers of the Festivities i.e. Tire Company Dębica S.A. and Goodyear Dunlop Tires Polska to give their performance.
Myslovitz Band – one of the most interesting and renowned Polish bands in recent years! It reconciles skillfully commercial successes with artistic quests. The band established 19 years ago has been giving concerts with almost unchanged composition. In 1996 Artur Rojek, the singer and guitar player, Wojtek Powaga, the guitar player, Jacek Kuderski, the bass player and Wojtek "Lala" Kuderski on drums was jointed by Przemek Myszor, the keyboard and guitar player. The Band plays the music termed as "guitar" music and it is inspired mainly by the British music stage. A breakthrough record in the Band’s career was "Love in the Times of Subculture", a fourth record published in 1999, which was granted the platinum status twice. Then the Myslovitz Band recorded four consecutive studio records including a record with English lyrics "Korova Milky Bar", which won the European Commission award “European Breakthrough”. Following the premiere of this album the Band was giving concerts for two years in the Western Europe. For outstanding achievements in the promotion of Poland worldwide, the musicians received a prize of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2004.Never before, any other representative of the pop music has received such distinction in Poland.

Last year, after a long break, Myslovitz again entered studio to start recording of a new album entitled „No Matter How High We Are …” that won the golden record status in June this year. According to the Band the time of album recording was the most creative period in its career. Eighteen tracks were composed of which only several were thought to be on the album. However, all songs proved to be so interesting that the Band found it hard to resign from any of them. What is the truth everybody will be able to judge himself on 27th August during the night concert of the Band given at the Debica for Debica Festivities in 2011.
Before the Myslovitz Band concert the performance will be given by Vavamuffin. The band was established in February 2003 in Warsaw. Vavamuffin is a combination of two words: a Jamaican word "raggamuffin" standing for singing style, winding and "Vava", standing simply for Warsaw.
Vavamuffin plays music that combines conventional roots reggae with dancehall, 2step and etnojazz. It is a journey to the roots of reggae and raggamuffin music, but at the background the Warsaw atmosphere can be felt. The Band will play at Dębica the tracks from its previous albums, but primarily from its last, third record entitled “Mo better rootz”. The last record is an attempt of summing up of the last three years of band activities, it comprises the echoes of the band concerts given in Ethiopia, the United States, Italy or Nordic countries, but also accounts of everyday life in Warsaw, observations of the Polish political life and a lot of regular unpretentious play with music and lyrics. During its artistic career Vavamuffin has given a few hundred concerts. The concerts are great passion of the band and everyone who has seen the band once, he will die to listen to its music once again.

The Vavamuffin concert will commence at 6.30 p.m., whereas the Myslovitz Band will stage its performance approximately at 8.00 p.m. at the Municipal Stadium in Akademicka Street at Dębica. Following the performance given by the Myslovitz Band, the Debica sky will be traditionally lit with extraordinary fireworks display that will close the 15th
Debica for Debica Festivities.
Like in the previous years, at the foot of the stage a special section for the disabled will be created in the evening. Consequently they will be able to admire the performance of Festivities’ stars in comfort.
“This year’s Debica for Debica Festivities will be an excellent opportunity for Debica city dwellers, both for the youngsters and for the older people, to get together and have fun while listening to good music. I do believe that both the Myslovitz Band that has just got back to the Polish music stage in flying colors after a longer absence, and also unconventional Vavamuffin are the bands that will cater for all tastes of the Festivities visitors. Additionally we prepared a wealth of other attractions – starting from morning experience in the road accident trainers, ending up with games and competitions for everybody at every age” – said Marta Konopacka, Director for Communication at Tire Company Dębica S.A.
