The bands KOMBII and Pudelsi and “the safe town” were major attractions of the 12th “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity organized in 2008 by the Tire Company Dębica S.A., and also, for the first time, by Goodyear Dunlop Tires Polska.

Dębica, 31 August 2008 – The bands KOMBII and Pudelsi and “the safe town” were major attractions of the 12th “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity organized in 2008 by the Tire Company Dębica S.A., and also, for the first time, by Goodyear Dunlop Tires Polska. This year the Festivity attracted more than 40,000 people living in the city of Dębica and in the Subcarpathian region. The guests who visited the sports facilities of Wisłok Sports Club not only had a lot of fun, but also had an opportunity to widen their knowledge about road safety and the basics of first aid . A charity event was also carried out during which Tire Company Dębica S.A. part-financed summer holidays for children who are charges of three Dębica-based social institutions.

The youngest children had already arrived at the Folk Festivity with their parents by 2.00 p.m. when an amusement park was opened in the stadium. Then a stage performance was given by the singer Majka Jeżowska. Her unforgettable songs and numerous contests encouraged the children to have fun. The atmosphere was skillfully warmed up by the masters of ceremony, namely Marzena Rogalska, a novice in this role, and the dependable Marek Rusinek, already well known to the inhabitants of Dębica . Then stage performances were also given by local children and youth bands from Dębica and the Subcarpathian region.

At the same time in the stadium the “safe town” was opened to the visitors. The road traffic competitions enjoyed high popularity. They were organized under the supervision of the Police and experts from the Voivodship Driving Training Center from Rzeszów. All interested people had the opportunity to ride a bike in a specially prepared driving training site, and to win attractive prizes that were presented on stage. A lot of participants of the Folk Festivity also attended the Emergency Services stand where medical staff taught first aid and the basics of the kiss-of-life using professional manikins. The visitors at the Folk Festivity were also highly impressed by the extremely spectacular equipment of the Dębica-based fire brigade.

At 6.00 p.m. it was high time for the highlight of the night, i.e. the performance of the stars. Firstly Pudelsi proved that they were still in the forefront of Polish rock bands . The hits they played encouraged not only the young people to have fun. And then it was time for KOMBII . An excellent atmosphere, professionalism and unforgettable tracks (both those recorded many years ago and from their newly released record) – in short, that is how the performance of the band could be summarized. The band played all their greatest hits that were enthusiastically welcomed by the audience . A crowd of many thousands swayed to the rhythm of well known and liked songs. The Folk Festivity came to a close at 10.00 p.m. with a spectacular show of fireworks.

“We are doing our best to make sure that each consecutive “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity is unique and provides a lot of new thrills for our audience. This year our ambition was to combine good fun with education and the popularization of road safety. I am happy that our idea was received so well, which can be seen in the high turnout during this year’s Folk Festivity” said Marta Konopacka, Communications Director of Tire Company Dębica S.A.

In keeping with tradition, the “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity tried to draw attention to assistance for the needy. Once again, in front of the stage a special area for the disabled was established, and as a result they could fully admire the performance of the stars invited to the Folk Festivity. A major item on the agenda of Folk Festivity was the conclusion of the charity event performed by Jacek Pryczek, the President of the Management Board of Tire Company Dębica S.A., accompanied by representatives of the social institutions. Thanks to the support of T.C. Dębica S.A. amounting to PLN 30,000, the social institutions could organize holidays for their charges. Almost one hundred people, both children and their carers from the “Hanka” Children’s Home, the "Nazareth" Day-Care Room and the "I CAN" Integrative Association for Disabled Youth, enjoyed a summer holiday. On stage we could listen to their accounts and recollections of their summer holiday, which were received very warmly by the audience.
