Musical feast for the lovers of Polish classic rock and finale of the Charity Campaign 

Already on coming Saturday 28 August this year the major music event of summer, 14th Dębica for Dębica Festivities, will be held. Tire Company Dębica S.A. and Goodyear Dunlop Tires Polska invite at 2.30 p.m. to the Municipal Stadium (the site of former military unit) in Akademicka Street at Dębica where 14th Dębica for Dębica Festivities will be held.

The Dębica for Dębica Festivities is an event for the whole family whose members belonging to different age categories – both younger and older  - will find something interesting for themselves. At 3.00 p.m. the youngsters will be entertained by “Uncle Hippo and Friends”. In the programme there are such attractions as clowns, classes how to cast spells, and juggling classes and competition. Next to the stage there will be also a funfair, a myriad of competitions and other types of entertainment.

Approximately at 6.00 p.m. the performance will be given by Psio Crew band, the revelation of this music season, that combines electronic music with … traditional highlanders’ tunes. No doubt that many Festivities’ visitors will be at the Municipal Stadium in Akademicka Street specially for them, because they are really worth it.  Remarkable arrangements and energy beaming from the band during their performances makes audience roaring to dance.

At night at  8.00 p.m. performance will be given by Perfect band, a star of the Polish rock music. The band set up in 1977 has been extremely successful already for three decades. Major hits of the band such as: "Don’t cry Eve”, "We want to be ourselves”, "It’s so cheerfully around me”, "I can’t give you much”, "Autobiography”, „The Invincible” or  „Get lost” have become already unquestioned classics of the Polish rock. In 2002 Perfect band, as one of the few, dared to combine rock tunes with symphonic music. The crowning of the project was a compact disc "Symphonically”, recorded with the Polish Radio Orchestra that beat the previous Polish record in the music market and already two weeks after its release was awarded with platinum disc. This year the band celebrates its 30th anniversary  (in 1983-1987 it suspended its activities) of artistic activities. Even today the musicians have a group of faithful fans that follow their beloved band and attend subsequent concerts.

Before Perfect band performance there will be a special moment – the finale of Charity Campaign, which is the inevitable item of the programme of the Dębica for Dębica Festivities. For a couple of weeks now in mass media that are patrons of the event, viz. the Nowiny daily and debica.com.pl Web portal an opinion poll is underway. The city population is able to cast their votes in favor of specific goals proposed by Debica social organizations. These include: “Hanka” Children’s Home, “I CAN” Integrative Group of the Disabled Youth, “Joy” Association of Parents and Friends of the Disabled, “Nazareth” Educational Day-Care Room at Saint Jadwiga Parish  and Community Club at Sunny Housing Estate.

For the execution of social goals a total sum of PLN 50 thousand will be appropriated and distributed proportionally depending on the number of votes gained i.e. PLN 15 thous., PLN 12 thous., PLN 9 thous. and two times PLN 7 thous. The votes can be cast throughout the whole duration of the Festivities until 7.00 p.m. in a specially designed zone at the stadium where one could get familiar with the organizations and their goals. Then with the aid of Dębica scouts votes will be summed up and counted, and the results and total subsidy will be announced approx. at 7.45 p.m.

Despite the fact that already a few hundred votes have been cast on Dębica social organizations via mass media, the ultimate result is still an open question, because in fact the votes cast so far spread evenly. The leading organization won almost 30% of votes, whereas the organization with the lowest number of votes - 15%. Each vote may decide, which organization will be granted the largest amount of subsidy.

„It is a major challenge to organize such big event at a new venue, but I do believe that the population of Dębica and the Subcarpathian region will attend this year’s Dębica for Dębica Festivities in crowds and regardless of age will have a lot of fun - said Marta Konopacka, Communication Director of Tire Company Dębica S.A.. „I do invite everybody to visit the Municipal Stadium on Saturday also to cast the vote during Charity Campaign. This gesture can make a lot of good” – added M. Konopacka.

Like in the previous year, at the foot of the stage a special section for the disabled will be created. Consequently they will be able to admire the performance of Festivities’ stars in comfort.

The admission to the Festivities is free.
