Dębica, 31 July 2008 – On the last weekend of the summer, on Saturday August 30 2008, Tire Company Dębica S.A. and Goodyear Dunlop Tires Polska invite you to the annual “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity. The Folk Festivity will be held for the twelfth time in a row. The event is treated by many Dębica residents as the traditional crowning event of the summer vacations and it will be an event on a grand scale, as it is every year. Certainly, the musical attractions will be abundant. This year, the stars of the evening will be Kombii, preceded by Pudelsi and local bands from Dębica and the Subcarpathian region. The fun and games during the 12th Folk Festivity will also be accompanied by a charity campaign and the motto of the event will be safety.

As always, the organizers expect several thousand visitors to arrive, and not only from the city of Dębica. For many residents of the Subcarpathian region the Folk Festivity has been a permanent event in their calendar and a guarantee of good fun and entertainment, and this year’s Folk Festivity promise to be extremely attractive. The star of the night, namely Kombii, does not have to be introduced to anyone. Its repertoire includes both brand new hits and well known songs going back to the 1980s and 90s. For people preferring harder music the performance of the legendary group Pudelsi will undoubtedly be a major attraction.

On the Dębica stage, performances will be also given by local youth and children’s bands. A lot of attractions have been prepared for the youngsters. This year Majka Jeżowska will perform a special show for them. In addition, there will be an amusement park, competitions and a lot of other types of entertainment that will keep everybody amused.

This year the motto of the “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity is safety. From the beginning of its operations Goodyear, a partner in this year’s Folk Festivity, has been associated with safety. In the Wisłoka Sports Club’s stadium a “safety town” will be organized where the attractions for the Folk Festivity visitors will be provided by police, fire brigade and medical emergency services from Dębica, and also by the Voivodship Driving Training Site from Rzeszów. Everybody who wants to can participate in competitions and educational games devoted to road traffic safety, learn the rudiments of first aid and the kiss of life, and also how to behave in case of fire. Additionally, during the Folk Festivity there will be an opportunity to learn more about blood donation and to meet in person voluntary blood donors from the Irena Domańska, MD, Voluntary Blood Donors Club which has been in operation for 37 years at Tire Company Dębica S.A.

Traditionally, the “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity has been an opportunity for Tire Company Dębica S.A. to provide support for laudable goals. Tire Company Dębica S.A. has provided part financing for vacations for the charges of three social institutions:

• “Hanka” Children’s Home
• The “Nazareth” Day-Care Room in the Parish of Saint Jadwiga in Dębica; The Association for Aid for Disabled Children with Cerebral Palsy – The “I CAN” Integration Club for Disabled Youth.

Like last year, just in front of the stage there will be a special area arranged for the disabled. Consequently, they will be able to admire up close the performances of the Folk Festivity’s stars in comfort.

In the evening the sky above Dębica will be lit up by an unusual fireworks display that will close the 12th “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity.

It is an event that has become an inherent part of the life of the local community. This year we will organize the Folk Festivity jointly with Goodyear, Tire Company Dębica S.A.’s strategic partner. In this way, the company wants to emphasize its involvement in the life of city and the region. I do believe that this year’s “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity will also bring a lot of joy to its participants and the safety campaign will bring tangible results,” said Jacek Pryczek, the President of the Management Board of Tire Company Dębica S.A. and Goodyear Dunlop Tires Polska.

In turn Tire Company Dębica S.A. has been involved for many years now in supporting social and educational activities. During this year’s “Dębica for Dębica” Folk Festivity, thanks to the involvement of Dębica residents in the charity campaign, Tire Company Dębica S.A. donated more than PLN 30,000 to needy people.

Through cash and non-cash donations, Tire Company Dębica S.A. has extended its care for a growing number of disadvantaged people. It supports the organization of integration trips, meetings and workshops. We also help the able-bodied youth by funding scholarships, and also by funding educational activities, for example teaching them how to provide first aid. In addition to the many organizations and institutions, the rescue services can also count on the Company’s support, i.e. the fire brigade, police and emergency ambulance services in the city of Dębica, and in the Subcarpathian region.
